Fall Back in Love with Marketing

Roses are red, violets are blue. What has your current marketing strategy done for you? If you’re not feeling the love from your digital marketing strategy, don’t fret. Updating it doesn’t have to be a complicated process. Let’s explore some tactics you can try to feel the spark again.

Revisit Your Keywords

When you created the keywords for your pay-per-click advertising (PPC) campaign, you identified what you considered to be the best keywords tailored to your digital marketing strategy. Done deal, right? Well, it may be time to revisit those keywords. Google alone gets about 63,000 searches per second, so reviewing your keywords is important. Check your Google Ads data to see the keywords are performing best and the ones you can dump (it’s not you, it’s me, I swear).

If a keyword is earning conversions, then take the time to investigate similar ones that could also benefit your digital marketing. If certain keywords are bringing in a specific audience, then expand on them to attract more of those visitors. For example, a shoe company using the keywords “pink workout shoes” finds that this is attracting a large portion of female visitors to their site. They expand upon this and create new keywords like “pink exercise shoes for women” or “ladies pink workout shoes” in their PPC to reach even more female visitors.

If a keyword is not bringing in results, then consider revising or deleting it completely. It’s better to have a short list of keywords that gain conversions than to have a long list that only bring down your ad group’s quality score.

Refresh Your Content

Be sure the content on your website is current and attractive to visitors. A blog is a great way to consistently update your content and invite new viewers to your website. Choose topics that interest your target audience and incorporate your services within them. Keep in mind your website design when choosing text color and font.

Another way to refresh your content is by using photos. About 32% of marketers say visual images are the most important form of content for businesses. Make sure the images on your website reflect the current “feel” and impression your business wants to portray. Updating these images can revamp your online presence and give your content a little “TLC.”

Tip- remember to check that personnel and location pictures are up to date.

Use Video

Another popular and appealing type of content is video. Video increases organic traffic from search engine results pages (SERPs) by 157%. They can be easily shared across different social media and generate serious audience engagement.

Videos are also great at sharing detailed information that might lose viewer attention if displayed in a text format alone. For example, an air conditioning company could create helpful, how-to videos for its online audience. A short video showing how to replace an air filter is more likely to attract viewers than a page of written instructions.
